The Psych Circuits embrace the insights of neural plasticity and emotion regulation in order to foster better physical, mental and emotional health whilst managing maladaptive behaviours. This unique way of programming seeks to educate and engage individuals, including those from the most disadvantaged backgrounds, in productive activities that REPROGRAM unhealthy thought patterns and REGULATE challenging emotions.
The Psych Circuit strategies support clients in becoming more aware of their mood, challenge negative thoughts and to engage in pleasurable activities.
The Psych Circuits work on the cognitive model of behaviour by teaching the individual to change their thoughts (cognition) and their behaviours. The aim is to assess the negative thoughts a person is having about themselves, and their view of the world, and to replace them with more positive and constructive thoughts and behaviours such as self talk statements and emotion regulation strategies. By addressing the thoughts and emotions which contribute to maladaptive behaviours, the Psych Circuits seeks to offer an alternative and innovative approach to physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
